Snowflake celebrates 10 years of empowering businesses to unlock the world’s data

19 October 2022, Dubai, United Arab EmiratesSnowflake, the Data Cloud company, recently announced its 10-year founding anniversary, celebrating a decade of helping businesses across the globe unlock, mobilize, share and monetize the world’s data. To commemorate Snowflake’s 10 years – two years since its IPO as one of the largest in software history, as well as its first year of business in the UAE – the world’s tallest building, Burj Khalifa in Dubai, lit up with Snowflake’s logo, signaling its success in delivering a new meaning to enterprise data and application collaboration.

Mohamed Zouari, General Manager, Middle East, Turkey, and Africa, Snowflake commented, Over the past decade, Snowflake has developed close partnerships with our customers and partners, who have been an inspiration for many of the innovations we’ve brought to the market. We look forward to more collaboration in the next decade, as we further develop our technological ecosystem to support the data needs of our valued customers.

“As the UAE rapidly becomes one of the most technologically advanced regions in the world and remains a global hub for innovation and digital transformation, we continually find value in networking with customers, partners, and industry peers at events such as GITEX Technology Week, which is incredibly valuable to increase awareness around the Snowflake Data Cloud and its economic impact in the region.” Mohamed Zouari continued, “Data is central to ensuring the success of these modern businesses as they seek to compete on a global scale and gaining a first-hand look at how different organizations are leveraging their data to drive innovation was a great takeaway from the event.”

Snowflake eliminates data silos created by legacy on-premises technologies, so users can consolidate all data into a single source of truth to better integrate and analyze datasets. With Snowflake, users can also store and access structured, semi-structured, and unstructured data in one location, while gaining seamless and secure access to external, third party data via Snowflake Marketplace.

Snowflake first transformed data analytics in 2014, then data collaboration in 2018, and is now zeroed-in on disrupting application development with the Data Cloud. With Snowflake as the platform for application development, it’s not only simple for users to discover and collaborate across their entire organization, but customers can also securely share applications to the entire Data Cloud network and unlock new revenue streams. With Snowflake, the barriers that inhibit enterprise collaboration are gone, and organizations are embracing a new sharing economy with Snowflake’s innovations.

“Since Snowflake launched our regional cloud deployment on Azure UAE, we’ve seen increased Snowflake adoption across many key customers in the UAE like Emaar and Emirates Post. They are both implementing cutting-edge data strategies powered by the Snowflake Data Cloud, and are driving impact across their organizations,” added Zouari.
