– Expanding Cultural Exchange Between Korea and the UAE
– 15 Programs Enriching the UAE this November and December
Abu Dhabi, UAE, 21 November 2024: Korea Season 2024 brings the essence of Korean culture to the UAE, presenting 15 curated programs from November to December. This initiative enhances cultural exchange through contemporary dance, orchestral performances, and visual art exhibitions, offering UAE audiences an immersive Korean cultural experience.
Organized by Korea’s Ministry of Culture, Sports, and Tourism, the Korea Foundation for International Cultural Exchange (KOFICE), and the Korean Cultural Center UAE, in collaboration with Abu Dhabi Festival, the program strengthens ties between the two nations, building on recent state visits by Korean President Yoon Suk-yeol and UAE President Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan.
Highlights include:
- National Dance Company of Korea: Performing Flow While Still at Louvre Abu Dhabi’s outdoor stage on November 16.
- Jungle: A contemporary dance production at NYU Abu Dhabi’s Red Hall on November 20.
- Visual Arts and Technology Talk: Featuring Nam-hee Park and Ah-young Kim at Abu Dhabi Art on November 21.
- Orchestra of Dreams with Abu Dhabi Youth Orchestra: Debuting at NYU Abu Dhabi’s Blue Hall on November 27.
- Fusion Music Performances: SB Circle and Coreyah performing at Abu Dhabi Cultural Foundation’s amphitheater on December 6.
Additional events include the Korea Festival 2024 at Umm Al Emarat Park on November 15-16, showcasing Korean tourism, culture, and K-content.
Her Excellency Huda Ibrahim Al Khamis Kanoo, Founder of Abu Dhabi Music & Arts Foundation, emphasized the importance of cultural diplomacy in fostering bilateral ties, stating:
“Through cultural collaboration, we aim to develop skills and strengthen relationships between the UAE and Korea.”
PARK Chang-sik, President of KOFICE, highlighted the strategic partnership, saying:
“This Korea Season celebrates the UAE as a key partner in cultural and artistic collaboration, reflecting the depth of our nations’ ties.”
This cultural initiative is a milestone in fostering mutual understanding and appreciation, bridging Korea and the UAE through the arts.
