RAK Energy Summit Returns to Drive Sustainable Energy Dialogues

Ras Al Khaimah, United Arab Emirates, November 18, 2024

The second edition of the RAK Energy Summit will take place on November 27–28, 2024, at the Al Hamra International Exhibition and Conference Center in Ras Al Khaimah. Organized by the Ras Al Khaimah Municipality under the patronage of HH Sheikh Saud bin Saqr Al Qasimi, UAE Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Ras Al Khaimah, the summit is themed “Create and Contribute to the Sustainable Energy Goals of the Future.”

Supported by Etihad Water & Electricity (EtihadWE) as the lead partner, along with prominent UAE ministries, IRENA, and 15 local government entities, the event will gather regional leaders and experts to explore the GCC’s energy transition and decarbonization efforts.

HE Munther Mohammed bin Shekar, Director General of Ras Al Khaimah Municipality, emphasized the summit’s alignment with the global sustainability agenda:
“Building on the momentum of COP28, this summit highlights the urgency of addressing critical energy challenges. We aim to foster collaborations among global thought leaders and decision-makers to position Ras Al Khaimah and the UAE at the forefront of sustainable energy developments.”

HE Engineer Yousif Ahmed Al Ali, CEO of EtihadWE, reinforced their commitment to sustainable energy:
“As the lead partner, EtihadWE is proud to showcase innovative projects driving decarbonization and energy efficiency in alignment with the summit’s vision for a sustainable future.”

The two-day event will feature presentations, panels, fireside chats, and Q&A sessions on key topics, including smart technologies, AI, future energy transport, and energy storage. Notable participants include representatives from Siemens Middle East, EDF Middle East, Dubai Supreme Council of Energy, EtihadWE, IEA, GCC Interconnection Authority, Thyssenkrupp, Tabreed, and others.
