Nissan leverages GT-R-inspired engineering to deliver thrilling performance in All-New Patrol

Dubai, UAE (18 November 2024): Nissan has redefined performance and capability with the introduction of the all-new Patrol, an SUV that combines GT-R-inspired engineering with groundbreaking innovations. Designed to cater to the Middle East’s passion for high-performance vehicles, the new Patrol features a potent 3.5-liter twin-turbocharged V6 engine, the most powerful production engine ever produced by Nissan. Delivering an impressive 425 horsepower and 700Nm of torque, the engine provides a 7% increase in power and a 25% boost in torque over its predecessor, while also enhancing fuel efficiency by an impressive 24%.

The seventh-generation Patrol incorporates aviation-grade materials and segment-first technology to ensure exceptional performance under extreme conditions. Notably, its scavenger oil pump, originally developed for the GT-R, provides enhanced lubrication during high-g-force scenarios, making it uniquely capable of tackling the Middle East’s challenging terrains, including steep dunes and rugged landscapes. This advancement underscores Nissan’s commitment to elevating the off-road experience, setting the Patrol apart as the only SUV in its class with this innovative feature.

Thierry Sabbagh, Divisional Vice President, and President for the Middle East, KSA, CIS – Nissan, INFINITI, highlighted that the all-new Patrol builds on its legacy with cutting-edge innovation, power, and efficiency. He credited Nissan’s skilled Takumi craftsmen for creating a vehicle that exceeds regional demands and redefines SUV performance standards. This dedication to precision is evident in the use of Mar-M superalloy in the turbocharger turbines, a material renowned for its durability under extreme temperatures and widely used in aviation.

The all-new Patrol is a testament to Nissan’s focus on delivering both power and environmental responsibility. Enhanced fuel and air optimization, coupled with increased fuel pressure and longer piston strokes, reduce environmental impact without compromising performance. A new electric intake valve timing system improves throttle response, contributing to a smoother and more dynamic driving experience.

Mated to a new 9-speed automatic transmission, the twin-turbocharged V6 ensures a seamless drive, supported by steering wheel-mounted paddle shifters for greater control. Drivers can further customize their experience with six selectable driving modes: Standard, Sand, Rock, Mud, Eco, and Sport. Adding to this versatility, the Patrol introduces Nissan’s first-ever 4WD transfer mode interlock system, which automatically adjusts to the optimal mode for different terrains, making the transition between road conditions effortless.

Engineered to excel across diverse terrains, from high-speed highways to demanding desert dunes, the all-new Patrol continues to push the boundaries of performance and capability. Available with an additional engine option – a 3.8-liter naturally aspirated V6 – the Patrol is now accessible through Nissan’s extensive network across the UAE, Saudi Arabia, and the wider Middle East. This latest iteration not only solidifies the Patrol’s legendary status but also sets a new benchmark for SUVs in the region.
