e& enterprise and SERGAS Group Join Forces to Drive Safety and Sustainability in GCC’s Gas Networks

Partnership to integrate smart digital solutions at key stages of new and existing gas distribution systems across the region.

Abu Dhabi, 15 November 2024 – e& enterprise, the digital transformation arm of e&, has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with SERGAS Group, a UAE-based gas system solutions provider. This three-year partnership aims to develop digital solutions that enhance the safety and sustainability of the gas distribution network in the GCC region, in line with regulatory standards from authorities.

By leveraging cutting-edge technologies, e& enterprise and SERGAS Group will jointly develop a suite of smart solutions—including smart meters, digital payment platforms, IoT-enabled systems, Information Technology Outsourcing (ITO), Business Process Outsourcing (BPO) services, multi-cloud infrastructure, cybersecurity, and custom software development—for both new and existing gas distribution networks across the region. These solutions are being developed in close collaboration with civil defense authorities, ensuring early incident detection for faster response times, thereby enhancing safety and security across gas utilities.

Additionally, the integration of these smart solutions will allow for transparent measurement of customer contributions toward sustainable gas consumption. This will enable both providers and consumers to actively engage in sustainable energy practices, driving a more responsible energy ecosystem.

Ragi Magdy, Chief Commercial Officer at e& enterprise, commented: “The future of energy lies in creating intelligent, sustainable networks that go beyond traditional utility frameworks. By harnessing technologies such as AI, we aim to enhance safety and operational efficiency across gas distribution systems. Through our smart solutions, we seek to democratize consumer involvement in sustainable energy practices. Our collaboration with SERGAS Group will deliver solutions that set new benchmarks for safety and environmental responsibility across gas networks in the GCC.”

Mohamed Damak, CEO of SERGAS Group, stated: “SERGAS Group is committed to pioneering advancements in gas filling systems that prioritize safety and sustainability. Our collaboration with e& enterprise reflects the invaluable support and guidance we’ve received from the UAE Civil Defense, the Abu Dhabi Department of Energy, and Civil Defense bodies across the GCC. Through this partnership, we are introducing cutting-edge technologies that enable authorities to remotely monitor and control gas filling operations, significantly improving safety standards. Embracing digital innovation, we are raising the bar for safety while contributing to a more sustainable energy future in the region.”

This collaboration enables e& enterprise to expand its expertise within the gas sector, building on its established presence in electricity and water utilities, including partnerships with Etihad Water & Electricity. Similarly, SERGAS Group is positioned to offer more differentiated and safer services to both current and new customers.

Together, e& enterprise and SERGAS Group aim to set a new standard for safety, transparency, and environmental accountability in the GCC’s gas networks, creating a resilient infrastructure that supports a sustainable future.
