GCC POWER 2024 Conference & Exhibition Opens in Manama

Manama, Bahrain, 11 November 2024: The 20th GCC – CIGRE International Conference and 30th Exhibition for Electrical Equipment, “GCC POWER 2024,” opened today in Manama, Bahrain. The three-day event brings together industry leaders, dignitaries, and experts to explore the latest developments in the electricity and energy sectors.

H.E. Kamal Bin Ahmed Mohamed, President of the Electricity and Water Authority (EWA), highlighted the importance of sustainable energy, stressing the need for the GCC region to reduce carbon footprints. He also discussed Bahrain’s efforts to diversify energy sources, aiming for 20% renewable energy by 2035 and carbon neutrality by 2060.

H.E. Ahmed Naser Al-Nasr, Chairman of GCC CIGRE, emphasized the event’s role as a platform for dialogue, innovation, and collaboration in the energy sector. He noted that CIGRE’s mission is to advance global expertise in power systems and address future challenges.

GCC CIGRE Technical Committee Chairman, H.E. Ahmed Ali Al-Ebrahim, outlined key topics for the event, including transformer design, smart grids, renewable energy, and asset management for power systems. The conference offers valuable opportunities for exhibitors and attendees to engage with industry leaders and explore new business opportunities.
