Dubai Chamber to Highlight Role of Digitalisation and AI in Sustainable Business Practices at Sustainability Week 2024

Dubai, UAE – The Dubai Chamber of Commerce has released the agenda for Sustainability Week 2024, taking place from 7–11 October. The five-day event will spotlight how digitisation and artificial intelligence (AI) can foster more sustainable business practices, with an emphasis on the private sector’s role in this transition.

Organised by the Centre for Responsible Business, Sustainability Week 2024 will focus on advanced technologies that accelerate sustainable development. The event will specifically showcase AI’s role in creating practical sustainability solutions, aimed at encouraging private sector adoption of eco-friendly practices.

Maha Al Gargawi, Vice President of Business Advocacy at Dubai Chambers, remarked, “We are committed to empowering the private sector to contribute more effectively to sustainable development. This year’s programme will highlight cutting-edge approaches, especially in leveraging AI and digital technologies for sustainability.”

Programme Highlights

Day one will feature a seminar on AI and its impact on sustainable business. Ahmad Bin Byat, Founding Chairman and CEO of Zaina Investments, will deliver a keynote speech, followed by a panel discussion on how digital solutions and AI can support sustainable development goals.

Additional sessions will delve into improving supply chain efficiency and enhancing recycling efforts using innovative technology.

Circular Economy and Digital Strategy

The event will also include a special forum on digital strategies for the circular economy. Participants will engage in an interactive simulation and discuss how AI, big data, and the Internet of Things (IoT) can enhance resource efficiency, reduce waste, and promote long-term sustainability.
