Dubai, UAE; 8th March 2023: With over 1 billion euros worth of jewellery exported to the UAE in 2022, Italian jewellery manufacturers keep looking at the UAE as one of the top export markets for their products. The Italian jewellery sector is represented by 42 jewellery producers and designers gathered in the Italy Pavilion at the Watch and Jewellery Middle East Show, the bi-annual exhibition running until 12th March at Sharjah Expo Centre.
Located in Hall no.4, the Italy Pavilion in complemented with the Italian Jewellery Lounge organized by the Italian Trade Agency-ITA, the Governmental Agency that promotes “Made in Italy” across the world according to the guidelines of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, in collaboration with CNA (Italian Confederation of Craft Traders and SMEs).
Designed by Artex, one of the founders of the International Charter of Crafts, created to define the strategic lines of action to protect, enhance and promote the artistic and traditional craft sector, the design echoes the atmosphere of a jewellery boutique featuring white leather sofas, jewellery display windows and a coffee corner, the lounge offers the show visitors a comfortable and discreet location to try on valuable pieces, and to the exhibitors an informal and relax setting to network and to nurture their business relations.
The gold and silver jewellery sector in value is one of the most important manufacturing sectors of the Italian economy, as well as one of the most export-oriented, with over 85% of turnover coming from foreign markets. The Italian style and creativity, the skill of the craftsmen, the accuracy of the workmanship and the originality of the products, make “Made in Italy” jewellery pieces stand out.
Amedeo Scarpa, Director of ITA office in the UAE said, “Italy exported 10 billion euros worth of jewellery all over the world in 2022. The UAE represents one of the most important destination market by importing more than 1 billion Euro yearly from Italy (+24% compared to previous year). We are largely the 3rd world supplier of this market with 11% of the market share.
Our goal is to create opportunities for the Italian companies that want to reach new markets and the Lounge that we have set up at the Italy Pavilion will facilitate connections and interactions between Italian exhibitors and buyers and generate new business deals.”

Under the slogan “Sustainability is SustainabITALY” the environmental, economic and social sustainability of the Italian products are keeping the Made in Italy reputation strong and innovative.
