St. George’s University School of Medicine in GrenadaReturns as Platinum Sponsor of ICEF Dubai

Dubai, United Arab Emirates, 08 February 2023: St. George’s University (SGU) School of Medicine, in Grenada, West Indies has announced its return as a Platinum Sponsor of ICEF Dubai. The three-day event, widely recognised for championing international higher education in the MENA region, will run from the 13th to 15th of February at Jumeirah Emirates Towers.

Renowned for their diversity, the Middle East and North Africa are attractive talent pools for leading global education institutions. As the largest source of doctors for the entire United States workforce, according to FSMB physician licensure data, 2021, SGU is working to combat the shortage of primary care physicians by providing its students with an international education spanning Grenada, and the United Kingdom, with clinical training opportunities in the US or UK. ICEF plays a key role in offering delegates exclusive access to high-quality, ICEF-screened agents from 17 MENA countries.

According to ICEF, the exhibition saw a 67 per cent increase in attendance in 2022 compared to the previous year, with over 500 individuals from 40 different countries – and spanning 6 continents – seeking to recruit students from the Middle East and North Africa. A total of 4,020 in-person and virtual meetings were held over the four-day event, which resulted in 100 per cent of survey participants voting to return in 2023.

“We salute the efforts of ICEF to advance international student mobility. As platinum sponsor of the event, we’re proud to play a role in increasing access to the medical field for students in the region,” David Anthonisz Director, International Student Recruitment at St. George’s Universitysaid. “SGU is committed to equipping students for a career in medicine, and prides itself on the unique ability to do so through international experiences and global clinical training.”

Ian Cann, Vice President, Americas at ICEF said: “We’re thrilled to see SGU return as platinum sponsor for this year’s ICEF Dubai event. Their support of our vision to provide Middle Eastern and North African students with an international, medical education has been invaluable, as reflected by the increased attendance rate and success stories of those who have been recruited to study at SGU beyond the event. Through our relationship with SGU, we’re continuing to provide clarity, direction, and opportunity for students in the MENA region to embark on an international medical pathway.”
