Dubai United Arab Emirates, 14 October 2022: Dubai Internet City, a member of TECOM Group PJSC, marked a successful participation in the 22nd GITEX Technology Week. The global tech hub has a host of tech-powered, interactive experiences for visitors at its stall, along with interactive workshops to discover the future of the industry. From elevating art with augmented reality to a moonwalking experience, here’s this year’s top highlights. 

Dubai Internet City announced that it will house Intel’s newest artificial intelligence (AI) software R&D center – the first of its kind in the GCC. The announcement was attended by Ammar Al Malik, Executive Vice President Commercial Leasing at TECOM Group PJSC, and Taha Khalifa, Intel Corporation, Middle East General Manager. Adding to the tech hub’s 15 customer-led Innovation Centres, Intel’s new R&D centre will help to advance the capabilities of Intel’s leading AI software solutions.

Shedding light on the importance of sustainability, Dubai Internet City unveiled the sculpture of an Arabian Stallion by Lebanese artist Pierre Aboud, made entirely of recycled e-waste. The installation reflects TECOM Group PJSC’s commitment to ESG.

Ever wonder what it would be like to take a stroll on the moon? Dubai Internet City’s LED floor panels track visitor footsteps and translate the movement into lifelike astronauts on screen.

Curious about what communicating with your loved ones could look like in the future? Dubai Internet City’s stand features a human-sized hologram portal where participants can interact and communicate with others in real-time for a taste of tomorrow.

FIFA World Cup fever arrives at GITEX thanks to Dubai Internet City. Friends and colleagues can play a mind-powered football match using EEG sensors translating brainwaves into movement.
